Strasbourg

The most active delegates of the student-led educational project Pilsen Academy of Young diplomats 2016 visited the Seat of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France at the invitation of a Member of the European Parliament. – JUDr. Jiří Pospíšil.

During the visit of the European institution students from all over the Czech Republic had the chance to not only talk with the MEP about the benefits of the European Union project for its member states, but they also visited the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire’s president Alassana Ouattary’s speech delivered in front of the Parliament’s plenum or they took part in the legislative process itself when watching the voting of MEPs representing all member states of the European Union.

An integral part of the project was also an extensive cultural and gourmand program. The participants experienced Strasbourg’s historical center, visited the Strasbourg Cathedral, admired the gorgeous half-timbered houses while on a boat trip through the city’s water canals, even tasted some renowned Alsatian specialties – delicious snail legs, Coq au vin (rooster in wine), dessert Crème brûlée or very popular in the region – savoury tarts.
